The Digital Hand
Over the last two weeks, Youth4Youth was invited to hold two STEM sessions for the students of ESF Quarry Bay School. The focus of these sessions was the link between technology and art. Students were able to explore the popular software, InspirARTion, which allows users to create electronic artwork and even hand sketches and paintings. Students also used Paint With Music, a software that allows you to create music with brushstrokes which helped them explore how technology links to music as well as art.
We were also thrilled to show the students AutoDraw, a tool which pairs machine learning with drawings to turn doodles into clipart using AI. It was great to explain how this software works to these young students and see the clipart they created. The students also had the opportunity to use Pixilart, an online pixel drawing tool that allows the creation of game sprites, animated GIFs and artwork. It was great to see all the creative work the students made with these softwares!
